Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

We partner with firms across the nation to make sure you have a Legal Nurse in attendance for your client's Independent Medical Examinations (IME). 

We offer pre-examination preparation, so the client knows what to expect. We will be present and observe the IME, which brings comfort to the patient, knowing they have someone there on their side. It also brings a level of veracity to the examination, because the Legal Nurse Consultant knows which questions should/shouldn't be asked and which exams should/shouldn't be conducted. If there are questions asked that are inappropriate to the setting, we will refer the exam provider to the medical records. If we see something incongruent happen, we will always document the variance. For example, if an eye injury occurred, one would expect a cranial nerve exam to be performed. It if isn't, that deficiency will definitely be included in the report.

After the IME, we will provide an observation summary so detailed that the legal team will feel like they were present, as well. If permissible in the state the exam was performed, an audio recording will be submitted with the report, as well.
